Stellarium
Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go.

TUBA
The TOURING THE UNIVERSE THROUGH BINOCULARS STAR ATLAS (TUBA, for short) is the only star atlas designed specifically for use with binoculars. Conceived by Dean Williams of Cabot, Arkansas, the atlas plots all of the objects listed in the book plus shows stars to 11th magnitude, a reasonable limit for giant binoculars. (Of course, you can adjust that to show fewer stars, as desired.)
ORBITER
ORBITER is a free flight simulator that goes beyond the confines of Earth's atmosphere. Launch the Space Shuttle from Kennedy Space Center to deploy a satellite, rendezvous with the International Space Station or take the futuristic Delta-glider for a tour through the solar system - the choice is yours.
Altair Astronomy Calculator
Altair is an astronomy calculator for Windows. Altair calculates Local Sidereal Time, Julian Date, Universal Time, RA/DEC to Alt/Az and Alt/Az to RA/DEC
Moonphase
Moonphase 3.1 - displays the current moon phase of current day as an icon in the Activity field. You can change time zone, latitude and longitude (you can also click on the map!) to get a more accurate moon distance, moon rise, moon transit and moon set times and also the sun rise, sun transit and sun set. A little bonus: If you like to fish, mark the 'Show good fish days' option (fishing calendar, derived from 'the anglers Almanac').
Home Planet
Home Planet, a comprehensive astronomy / space / satellite-tracking package
Little Windows Helpers
Yes, it is possible to write small Windows programs - but who cares? If you do, have a look at these programs written in PureBasic. They do not come with an installation program, and they do not make any entries in the Windows Registry. Just unzip the files to a program folder, and make a shortcut.
Observation Manager
Observation Manager is a free and open logbook for (amateur-) astronomical observations. It's written in pure Java and runs on every plattform supporting Java 1.4 or higher. All logbook entries made in Observation Manager are stored in the free and open COMAST XML Schema.
Greycstoration Gimp plugin
pen source algorithms for image denoising and interpolation
PREDICT
PREDICT is an open-source, multi-user satellite tracking and orbital prediction program
SimSolar
SimSolar is a fun-to-use solar system simulator. It is perfect for classroom or personal use. The positions of the sun, moon and planets are displayed for any date selected. Tilt and rotate the entire system to view from any vantage point.
Planet Engine
planet engine is a 3D real-time planet renderer. It allows you to fly over the surface of planets and also to see them from space. You can explore real planets - like Mars and Earth - or use imaginary data.
TRAKSAT
TRAKSAT is a satellite tracking program for amateur radio and optical users alike. The program was written by Paul E. Traufler. TRAKSAT provides all the features you would expect from satellite tracking software and much more.
ASCOM
This is the home of the ASCOM Initiative, a loosely-knit group of astronomy software developers and astronomy device manufacturers devoted to vendor-independent plug-and-play control. ASCOM is a many-to-many and language-independent architecture, supported by most astronomy devices which connect to computers.
Orbitron - Satellite Tracking System
Orbitron is a satellite tracking system for radio amateur and observing purposes. It's also used by weather professionals, satellite communication users, astronomers, UFO hobbyist and even astrologers.
Astronomical software clock MAXCLOCK
The high-precision astronomical (software) clock displays various sidereal and solar time signals (for Greenwich and other selectable site), equation of equinoxes, Julian dates in UT1 and ET, Delta-T, Sun and Moon in aequatorial and ecliptic coordinates (milliarcsec-accuracy), and issues announcements for solstices, equinoxes, and Moon phases.
